The 3.12a version was released on August 19, 1999. As very recently a Y2K problem was found in that version, David Harris has released an update release: version 3.12b.

New in this 3.12b version:
WinPMail v3.12b corrects a Y2K problem experienced by some users:
Fixed: Mail filtering rules which triggers on messages whose dates fall within a specified range appeared not to work for dates past 1999 - if you enter such dates, save the rule, and then go to edit it again, the date and time fields are changed to apparently unrelated values.
What's happening is that the dates are not properly padded with leading 0's on the year when written to file.
As such it's not really a "Y2K" problem but a formatting problem.
WinPMail v3.12b has some new features and fixes like:
- Fixed: No Expiry header was created if you try to create one for a date in the year 2000. Years greater than 2000 work OK, or at least 2001.
- Fixed: The problem reported where the mailmerge extension leaves
behind a temporary file for each message it generates has been fixed for v3.12b.
- In v3.12b, list controls in templates will have their vertical scrollbar
permanently enabled (at present you don't get a scrollbar, which
makes it very difficult to access more than nine items in a template).
- Fixed: It would be much nicer if the Find function in a distribution list would cause the text box to scroll after a match is found, so that the highlight is visible. It does now.
- New feature: There is now a new template processing keyword which allows you to make changes to the global behaviour of the template. Currently only the "Send message without opening a message editor window" is available.
- New feature: The "Deleted Messages" folder now remembers its position, size and sort order between sessions, even though the actual folder might change from session to session. You can now associate an identity or a set of rules with the deleted messages folder as well, and they too will persist correctly across different iterations of the folder.
- Fixed: Some users reported a problem which -in short- turned out to be: if your only Internet e-mail transport is a gateway, then your copies to self will contain garbage "from" lines. It will now use the first of any Internet enabled UDG setting.
- Changed behaviour: The v3.12b Internet Setup Wizard will now allow "@" in username although it produces a warning message (suggesting simply that there might be a problem with the address and to contact the ISP if it causes problems), but otherwise accepting the form.
