** PROVISIONAL RELEASE
** This release is not to be made available from other sites or
** mirrors before Monday August 16th at Noon, GMT. This delay is to
** allow us to correct any last-minute packaging errors that may have
** slipped through the quality-assurance process.

The small increment in version numbers is misleading - this is a
significant release with dozens of problem fixes and a number of
powerful new features. The reason we didn't up the version number
more than we have is to do with announcements we have made in the
past about "v3.2" that are not fulfilled in this particular cut.

Nevertheless, this is a very important release: the relatively placid
exterior belies the thousands of hours of development and testing that
have gone into this version. A brief summary of new features appears
at the end of this message, and is also available on the "Help" menu of
the program.

An enormous amount of effort has gone into making the program even
more stable, reliable and intuitive than it was before, but if you
encounter any problems with this package prior to the provisional
release period expiring, please report them to me directly,
David.Harris@pmail.gen.nz.

It has been my privilege and pleasure to make Pegasus Mail available
to the world for nearly ten years now (the anniversary is nominally
February 1st next year)... I enjoy doing this, and hope you get
satisfaction and good service from my work.

Enjoy!

Newspaper gaffs from around the world:
"Death by hanging was the penalty for murder in mainland
Britain until 1965, when it was temporarily suspended.
Suspension was made permanent in 1970."
